On 26th April 2015 will start another amazing edition of the Virgin Money London Marathon, with a fantastic cast in the men and women race.
Men race: last year we saw and incredible race with a pacer of high level like Haile Gebreselassie and the debut of Mo Farah in the marathon; Wilson Kipsang won the race in a new course record 2:04:29 (2:04:40 Emanuel Mutai 2011) becoming the first athlete to win Berlin, New York and London, second was the surprising Stanley Biwott with the time of 2:04:55 and his PB. If Wilson Kipsang will win the race on Sunday, he will become the third man to win the London Marathon for three times after Antonio Pinto and Martin Lel. This year there will be Wilson Kipsang after his victory in New York, Dennis Kimetto after the WR in Berlin, Emanuel Mutai (who runs London Marathon since 2008) after the second place and the second fastest time of all-time in the marathon in Berlin, Eliud Kipchoge the winner of Chicago Marathon, Geoffrey Mutai after the not so good race in NY marathon and in London last year, Sammy Kitwara after the second place in Chicago Marathon. Since 2004 the time of the winner was under 2:06.30 and the winner was always a Kenyan, but only in 2010 and 2013 the winner was Ethiopian Tsegay Kebede.

Women race: last year was a race of high level where Edna Kiplagat won the race ahead of Florence Kiplagat and Tirunesh Dibaba at the debut in marathon. On Sunday will come back in the LondonMarathon after the pregnancy, the two times winner of London Marathon and the WMM title 2011/2012 Mary Keitany, who runs the third fastest time in marathon history here in London in 2012 in an incredible race and fight between her, Edna Kiplagat and Priscah Jeptoo. In addiction to Mary Keitany, there will be the first and second of last year in London: Edna and Florence Kiplagat, Aselefeh Mergia after the victory at Dubai Marathon, Priscah Jeptoo after the DNF of last year here in London and knee injury, Tirfi Tsegaye the winner of Tokyo Marathon 2014, Jemina Sumgong second in NY marathon 2014 and Tigist Asefa the winner of Shangai marathon 2014. Since 2011 to win the race was necessary run under 2:20.30 and always was a Kenyan, the last Ethiopian to win here in London was Derartu Tulu in 2001; if Mary Keitany wins the race, she will be the third woman to win for three times the London marathon after Paula Radcliffe and Katri Dorre.
In both race there will be the pacemakers: Edwin Kiptoo and Wilfred Murgor for men but the pace will be decided on the basis of the weather condictions, Rebecca Kangogo and Peres Jepchirchir for a pace 69:00/69:30 at the half.
